The Truth and Beauty Fund is a way to invest in Jake Armerding. In May of 2008, Jake created the fund to help subsidize the recording sessions for his fifth album, Her. There was an enormous response, with investments eventually topping $5,000, allowing Jake to collaborate with some of Boston's best musicians and studio technicians in the making of the record. In other words, the high quality of the recording and playing is largely because of fan support.
Fringe benefits? Of course. Investors have received a variety of perks and exclusive media over the last year in return for their support, including tickets, autographed photos and posters, unreleased demos and songs and even private concerts.
The Fund remains open for fans who want to invest in Jake's career in general or in a specific project he is working toward. The project currently on the books is a music video, to be shot in New York City in Spring 2010, of the song 'Harry/Sally,' from Her.
